Help Me Lose Weight by Burning Fat in the Gym

It is time to start losing weight when your body is shouting "help me lose weight now." Your health starts to deteriorate and you are feeling the effect of overweight.

All of us look forward to having the good body shape that we have in the days when we were younger. We flipped some of our old photos, admiring how good we look then wishing that our current overweight body was like what we had before. In order to get back to your "good old shape", you'll need planning, discipline and commitment to make it happen.

When people start to lose weight, they will rush in doing it and in fact began to see some results i.e. losing up 15 pounds in as little as 3 months. However, something gone wrong and they stopped losing weight. So what happened? People may start to lose focus or they simply don't have the passion to continue on.

From this trend mentioned above, it is best that you lose weight fast at an early fast, before you lose any focus. By losing weight fast in the early stage of your weight loss journey, then you'll be motivated to continue the journey. Also, you need to have a good work out plan that you enjoy so that you'll be motivated to continue to shed those pounds.

Below are 6 great ways to help you to lose weight fast in the gym and also to ensure you reach your weight loss target:

1) Weight Lifting

Do not know that your muscle tissues will burn more calories compared to your normal exercise routine i.e. running and swimming? By doing weight lifting and building more muscles, you will be burning more fat and hence losing more weight. The metabolism of your body will increase as your build more muscles, and this will result in continuous fat burning in your body. So, will this motivate you to do more weight lifting?

2) Exercise with caution

When you are trying to lose weight, be caution when you are exercising, especially with the gym machines. If you are not familiar with these machines, seek advice from the trainer. Do not take a risk exercising on machines that you are not familiar with as you may hurt yourself.

Getting hurt is the last thing that you want to happen when you are trying to shed those pounds. When you are hurt, you can't exercise and can't move around. When that happens, you may begin to gain some weight. Everything that you've worked on for the past few weeks have been wasted as you see those increasing pounds. You may lose motivation to continue or you may lose the momentum you have created. The worst part is you hurt yourself so badly that it hurts when you want to exercise again.

Even if you are able to continue with your weight loss journey, your target weight will definitely take longer to reach. You will have to start all over again and that is not easy. So, take precaution whenever you are exercising and slow down when you feel that you have overworked - always listen to your body signals.

3) Have a good healthy diet

You have a good exercise program in the gym, you workout and you feel good about it. However, remember that there are 2 sides to losing weight - exercise and diet. You must combine your exercise with a good and healthy diet. It is useless if you exercise well, but are engaging in unhealthy food after the gym session. This will put a set-back to your weight loss program.

After your gym session, drink lots of water instead of taking the soda which contained lots of sugar. Sugar will not do any good to your body as they tend to create more body fat. Also spread out your meals. Eat small portions each time for up to 5 times a day. By doing this, you will be increasing the metabolism in your body.

4) Have a good plan for your workout

You need to plan on areas that you need to work out. I know most people will just jump on any gym machines, start to work out hard, thinking that they are doing a great job in losing weight. This is a wrong thinking.

You need to plan your workout effectively. Take note of each machine in the gym and in what area are they effective on. If you are not sure, then talk to the gym trainer. When you know how these gym machines affect your body, then you will be able to plan your workout more effectively. By planning your workout, you will accelerate to lose more pounds.

You should only plan to work out 3 to 4 times per week and around 30 to 45 minutes per session. If you work harder than this, it will not help to shed more pounds. Never think that the more workout you do, you'll be losing more weight. Think along the line of effective workout to lose weight.

If you overworked your body, instead of losing more weight, you will be burning less calories. This is because your muscles will break down if you overworked them. I have this wrong idea when I was young and would go to gym almost every day. How wrong I am!

5) Take nutritional supplements

Want to accelerate your fat burning process in the gym? Then consider getting nutritional supplements. In order to help you burn more calories, you can consider taking fatty acids, amino acids and why protein. You need to specifically buy and take these nutrients as they are generally not found in your daily food. Again, if you are not sure what to take, consult the trainer at your favourite gym. Never take fat burning pills which promise you a sky - instant weight loss without any workout. Those pills may work on short-term, it will not be consistent to lose weight. The best way to lose weight is still to combine a good planned workout with a healthy diet.

6) Have weekly goals

Always track your progress on weekly basis. If you do not track your progress, you will not know where you are going. Monitor your progress and you'll know if your workout is effective.

Sometimes you may do the same workout for a few months and you do not seem to lose weight. When that happens, take a break and analyse your workout. Is there anything that you can adjust to make it more effective or you can consult the trainer at your favourite gym to have a more effective workout.

If you listen to the abovementioned steps for an effective workout in the gym, I am sure your will be well on your way to reduce weight and your body no longer have to shout "help me to lose weight now".

So, go on be consistent and work smartly on your gym routine instead of doing things in a disorganized and inconsistent manner and I am sure you'll reach your weight loss target in no time.

How to Lose Weight Fast: 14 Things You Can Do to Lose Weight Quickly!

Everyone wants to know how to lose weight fast. We know the usual "watch your diet and exercise regularly" routine. But if it is as simple as that, then there wouldn't be so many fat people in this world!

Amidst all the lies and hype surrounding the weight loss industry, it can be hard to separate the hype and lies from the truth. That's why in today's article, I'm going to share with you 14 things you must do to lose weight fast. Following these 14 tips will help you to lose weight safely and stay lean all year-round.

WARNING: SOME OF THE INFORMATION YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ MAY CONTRADICT WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #1: Stop eating only salads

This is a well-known habit especially among female office workers. You order a big salad with nothing but greens. Your colleagues see what you eat and applaud your efforts to lose weight. But before 2pm, you get hungry and start looking for cookies and chocolates to snack. How's that for one step forward and two steps back in your fat loss attempt? While there's nothing wrong with having salads for lunch, you should add some good clean protein such as eggs and chicken breasts and also good fats such as avocados or guacamole into your salads as well. Remember this: Every meal should have a protein element. These protein and fat make you feel more satisfied after the meal and will sustain your blood sugar levels for a longer period so you won't be looking for unhealthy snacks around the office right after lunch.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #2: Replace all the unhealthy snacks at home and in your office

Contrary to popular belief, snacking is actually productive for fat loss. Snacking on healthy snacks in between meals will help maintain a steady blood glucose level and also keep your metabolism elevated. Since people snack on convenience and the general availability of food around them, it is important to keep only healthy snacks such as dark chocolate, nuts, trail mixes, fruits or even beef jerky within easy reach. Throw all the others away. Or give them to a colleague you hate.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #3: Start a simple exercise routine

Every fat loss program needs to have an exercise component. It doesn't even have to an actual exercise like jogging or swimming. If you have never exercised before in your life, you can even start something as simple as brisk walking every day for 20 minutes and work up the intensity from there. The main objective is staying active and turning up your metabolism. As you get fitter (and you will), crank up the intensity and challenge your body to reach new heights of fitness.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #4: Stop the steady state jogging

If you have been jogging for some time and haven't seen any significant weight loss results, then it's time for you to move on to more challenging exercises. Jogging is a good exercise to build your cardiovascular endurance, but not the best for fat loss. To effective burn fat, you need a workout that elevates your heart rate to at least 80% of your maximum heart rate and burns the most number of calories in the shortest period of time. Full body exercises such as burpees, squats, deadlifts, shoulder presses and rows gives you the most bang for your time spent on exercising. Perform each exercise for 30 seconds with a 30 second break in between for 3 sets before moving onto the next. Do this for 10 - 15 minutes a day and you will see results beyond what you have experienced from months of jogging.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #5: Don't avoid carbohydrates completely

When carbs replaced fats as the main contributor of weight gain, many people are avoiding all known types of carbs completely. I personally have a colleague who shuns carbs like the plague. Let me set the record straight. Not all carbs are bad. Our bodies need carbs to function properly. Carbs are our bodies' main source of energy. In fact, our brain functions primarily on carbs. Depriving your body of carbs can have detrimental effects on your body. Every type food has its time and place to be consumed. As a general rule, you should only consume low glycemic carbs such as brown rice, dark leafy vegetables, multi-grain bread, oatmeal, etc. High glycemic foods such as bananas, juices, white rice, potatoes and other processed foods are best consumed only right after an intense exercise.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #6: Set realistic and measurable goals

A lot of people give up on a training or fat loss program after a week or so because they did not see the results they were expecting. First of all, you have to remember that you didn't get fat overnight. So you should not expect a miracle weight loss to happen as well. Setting realistic and measurable goals will help keep you motivated and continue towards your ultimate weight loss goal. So what considered as a realistic goal? Losing 0.5-1kg (1-2 lbs) a week is a realistic. Losing half an inch on your waist after two weeks is realistic. Of course, you have to be completely honest with yourself when you are accessing these goals. Ask yourself if you are really following the exercise program religiously? How many times did you cheat on your diet?

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #7: Focus on building muscle

Some people may disagree with me that exercising and muscle-building is important for fat loss. To me, fat loss is all about changing our body composition - reducing the fat mass and increasing fat-free mass (muscles). Increasing fat-free mass will invariably contribute to the lowering of fat mass. For each pound of muscle your body has, you burn an extra 35-50 calories a day. Fat on the other hand burns only 2 calories per pound. So the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate will be. And contrary to popular belief, having more muscles is what will give your body those sexy curves that the opposite sex desires.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #8: Invest in a whey protein or meal replacement supplement

Having 3 meals a day with 3 snacks times in between is not always easy to prepare. That's why for convenience purposes, it's recommended that you purchase a good whey protein or meal replacement supplement. Just add water or milk and you have one serving of quality protein.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #9: Make small changes and stick with them for 21 days

Let's be honest with ourselves. Fat loss involves some behavioral and lifestyle change. Your current lifestyle got you to the state that you are now. Continuing down this path obviously is not the quickest way to lose weight. We all know behavioral change is the hardest thing. This is why we need to make little changes every day that is more acceptable to our bodies. For example, if you currently drink two cans of soda every day, cut down to one can a day. Then next week, cut down to one can every two days. You get the picture. And for any program that you decide to get started, stick with it for 21 days. Statistics have shown that any behavioral change takes 21 to accept and approximately 60 days to form into a habit. So no matter how much you hate a current diet or exercise program, persevere for 21 days. You will be glad you did.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #10: Surround yourself with like-minded people

Some people are very dependent on social support, while others not so much. If you belong to the former group, it is important that you factor this aspect of motivation especially when you are starting out on a fat loss program. During the initial 21 days, it is important to stay motivated and focused on the goals you have set for yourself. You are bound to encounter challenges and struggles as you go through the program. Such as days when your thighs are so sore after doing full body squats or even good news like when you succeed in losing an inch off your waist. If you have friends who are doing the fat loss program with you, great! Share your results and how you feel about the program with them. Talk to fitness professionals; join online communities or Facebook groups to share experiences and gain knowledge. Also, don't just focus on the fat loss part. Get into the whole health and fitness experience. Buy fitness magazines, visit fitness websites. Look at physiques you desire to achieve and set them as your desktop wallpaper. Do whatever you need to stay motivated.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #11: Train your legs

I'm not just talking about jogging here; I'm referring to doing heavy squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc. If you have ever done squats before, you will know that it is one of the most demanding exercises in the world. You pant and sweat like a dog as if you have sprinted a mile. But it is also one of the best exercises for building overall strength and of course burning calories. Leg exercises such as squats are usually compound exercises and as such burns more calories. Even if you are not doing weighted squats, just doing body weight squats alone can be just as challenging. To be honest, in my first 5 years of training, I never once trained my legs. I always thought the upper body is more important and doing squats could stunt your vertical growth. That is all a fallacy. Ever since I started doing squats, my strength went through the roof and my body fat levels have remained consistently low all year-round. Now I do squats at least once a week otherwise my workout is never complete. If you have never trained your legs before, trust me, start your workouts with squats and you will be amazed by the results you see. And yes, you can thank me later.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #12: Keep a meal diary

Many people don't realize how many calories they consume every day. You think you are eating less by skipping a meal here and there. But you never consider those sodas, grande Frappuccinos or those cookies distributed by your colleagues that you so casually put in your mouth during the day. If you take down everything (and I mean every single thing including those mentos) that you eat into a meal diary, you will be surprised how many calories you are taking. Yes, I know it's quite a pain to record down everything. But do yourself a favor and just do it for one day. It will be an absolute eye opener.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #13: Learn to love water

Perhaps the most overlooked causes of weight gain, the liquids you consume can deceptively pack on a ton of calories. Just a can of soda contains close to 150 calories. A grande mocha Frappuccino contains a whopping 420 calories. Drink a soda and a Frappuccino every day and you will gain a pound a week.

Because we can so easily and carelessly gulp down beverages without a second thought, liquid calories are more harmful. Fruit juices are no better. They all contain naturally occurring fruit sugar, fructose, which like all other sugars if consumed in excess will result in weight gain. One of the quickest ways to lose weight is to always choose water over all other beverages. Water has zero calories and is a natural source of hydration for our bodies. By simply replacing all your other sugary laden beverages with water, you will quickly be able to see weight loss results.

How To Lose Weight Fast Tip #14: Limit alcohol consumption

I know it is almost impossible to completely abstain from alcohol. But if your goal is to find the fastest way to lose weight, then you have to cut down on your happy hours. Alcohol is a toxic substance with absolutely no nutritional benefit whatsoever. What's more, each gram of alcohol contains 7 calories. A few glasses of cocktails with its sugary mixers can easily pile on at least 1000 or more calories a night. You should also know that alcohol is an appetite stimulant. So don't be surprised if you feel hungry after a night of partying. Of course this leads to additional calories into your body that you don't need. If you are focusing on building muscle, excessive alcohol lowers your testosterone and increases cortisol levels (stress hormone) thereby reducing your body's ability to build muscle effectively.

With so many disadvantages to your fat loss goals, do you still need another reason not to drink?

What is weight?

Weight loss is a major topic for discussion within and outside medical boundaries. In medical arena, weight loss is seen as a method for gaining back one's health, while others are more concerned with the physical attributes that come about as a result of it, mainly in the form of better perceived physical appeal.

Why it is important to get rid of your extra body fat?

Generally, extra body fat indicates the presence of accumulated fatty substances that deposit themselves under the skin, and hence show up easily. This extra body fat is largely believed to be an indication of ill-health, as it is a reflection of the fatty deposits that accumulate on the inner walls of arteries and arterioles, and it is of utmost importance to get rid of this body fat to get a healthy life with smart body

Facts regarding weight loss

Weight loss can be of two types, one which takes place unintentionally may be a result of ill-health. However, when it is a result of voluntary effort with the intention of improving ones health, it is a healthy process. Indeed, weight loss can be attained through different means; one may decide to exercise sufficiently to lose weight, or resort to a change in diet, or even a combination of the two. There are many people who resort to using medication to drop their weight rapidly. Medical practitioners dispute the merits of the latter, as the long-term effects of this measure are unpredictable.

Naturally lose weight in a fun way

The best way to lose weight involves doing something as part of your routine that you enjoy. For some people, this involves having a few friends with whom they can go and visit a gymnasium regularly. Along with this, they might implement a diet that is sustainable and one that will take them towards good health and stay clear of wearing them thin on mineral resources and other important nutrients. Often, people fall for fad diets and they adhere to them along with an exercise routine, which is dangerous because in a short time they can find themselves depleting their vital resources.

Apart from using the gym, one may decide on playing a sport one fancies. Some people are known to begin with mild to medium intensity training in martial arts, depending on their age, state of health, etc.

It is important remember that when taking up a physical activity that suits you in the long run, you need to have a balanced diet and stay clear of medication to lose weight. If you decide to use medication, you might lose weight rapidly, but when you take yourself off it, you might experience weight gain, dissatisfaction and lethargy amid other side effects.

Is it good to use pills to lose weight?

While pills may have tremendous effects when it comes to rapid loss in weight, there are medical concerns. First of all, it is not a natural way of losing weight, which means that it does not change a human being's habit. In turn, when a person stops using these pills, they may start gaining weight again because they have not changed their lifestyles. Additionally, medical experts believe there could be long-term consequences when people use pills to lose weight. The ultimate result of using pills to lose weight has not been defined, which seriously means that there might be severe risks associated with their use.

Methods to reduce your weight quickly

While long-term and sustainable implementation of diets along with appropriate physical activity is recommended for losing weight, sometimes people want to lose weight rapidly. This is particularly the case when they face serious health and life-threatening issues.

• One method of losing weight rapidly includes using pills. One has to undergo an assessment prior to using this method. Only a physician who has examined an individual can recommend these. The results are startling, as people are known to start showing signs of weight loss in a matter of days.

• Another method of losing weight, although a little slower, is through diets that subtract your weight gaining substances. An example of such a diet is the Cabbage Diet. These kinds of diets have to be administered over a short period, as long-term adherence to it could ruin your health.

• Apart from adjusting what one consumes in order to lose weight, there is also the concept of intense exercise routines that people can put them self's through. This helps one to lose weight do to the fact that calories get burned rapidly. One example of a typical exercise in this method is the treadmill. The more you use, the more you will lose weight. However, here again, there is an issue of sustainability, as the intensity of exercise is sure to wear a person out after a short amount of time.

• Another method of losing weight rapidly that does not work for all people is by skipping meals. Many people decide to skip lunch of dinner in order to cut down on around one-third of their consumption. While some people are known to experience weight loss through this approach, medical experts ponder over the wisdom of it. This is because there can be severe issues with one's digestive system when meals are skipped; digestive fluids begin to act on the very walls of the digestive tract that produce them.

Tips to help you lose weight:

It is important to keep in mind that people of all ages are likely to suffer with overweight-related health issues. However, the following points pertain to people between the ages of 20 and 40.

• People are known to use weight loss pills and other formulas for losing weight. These are not really advised unless you feel that you are running out of time and need to lose weight rapidly before something severe happens to you. Using pills and medication for weight loss does not form any good habits, and you are likely to go back t your old bad routine and eating habits.

• People past the age of 20 are known to suffer with a condition known as obesity. They may be suffering with this due to sustained childhood obesity. Since this issue is most likely to have been prompted by inactivity, it is thought the individual has to be gradually drawn into a healthier lifestyle.

• Whether you have been overweight since your childhood or not, you still have to get into a healthier mode of physical activity. Initially, one can start by taking leisurely strolls in the mornings. The length and sped of these can be gradually be increased in order to boost the burning of calories.

• Intense and strenuous workouts are also used in order to burn calories. However, this needs to be implemented in accordance with...

• Consuming naturally produced foods that are meant to reduce weight trough their medicinal properties. This includes the consumption of things like Green Tea that is known to cut your cut. Some people prefer to go for consuming grape fruit juice. This is known to be very effective, but they need to discuss this with their physician, especially if they are on medication.

• Non sustainable diets such as fad diets can be used for reducing one's weight. The weight loss may be rapid, but the diet itself may not be sustainable.

• Sustainable diets are those that are well balanced and don't deny you of your vital nutrients. These diets tend to show slower progress, but in the long run they can lead you to better eating habits and a better lifestyle.

• Sustainable diets and adequate exercise is thought to be the right approach to losing weight. The intensity of the exercise may vary according to one's age and physical well being, and the diet too can be adjusted to meet the nutritional demands of an individual.

Weight Loss is All in Your Mind

It's often the will to do something that leads you to success. Indeed, many people end up remaining unhealthy and fat throughout their lives because they simply believe that they can't lose weight. This is completely contrary to the truth! If you develop the will and have every intention of losing weight, you can say that you have already won half the battle. Indeed, it is the will to achieve your goal that will drive you, and one may even go as far as saying that it's all about how much you really want to lose weight, gain your good health back and also look great.

Losing Weight: The Simple Science of Losing Weight

Are you committed to losing weight and keeping it off? Then, it is time to discover the science of losing weight. Losing weight is the result of a chemical reaction that takes place in the body where stored fat is used for energy.

It is important to learn the science of losing weight. When we learn the science of losing weight, we empower ourselves through knowledge and we can enjoy permanent and healthy weight-loss.

Losing weight is a science therefore we must take a scientific view of how we gain weight in the first place. For instance, did you know that 80% of all people who are overweight are food addicts and emotional eaters? Did you know that food addiction and emotional eating is the result of chemicals found in the foods you eat? The science of losing weight explains how this happens. From day 1 of our lives, not only was food associated with emotional comfort in our mother's arms, it also induced our brain to secrete a "happy feeling" chemical that is a hundred times stronger than some alcohol and drugs.

Unfortunately, this resulting physiological factor can overwhelm anyone's willpower effectively and quickly. This makes losing weight very difficult. In our society, we celebrate with food. Birthday parties, we have food. Holidays, we have food. But what makes losing weight a task for many is those highly addictive processed foods full of sugars, starches, and empty calories. These foods were designed to be addictive. A certain brand of potato chips declared, "you can't eat just one." We are addicted to the fat, starches, sugars, and other non-living chemicals found in breads, pastas, thick rich sauces, cheeses, meat, cured meats, processed meats, flour, treats, potato chips and a myriad of other dead foods filled with empty calories and void of nutrients.

As one can see, these foods are called "comfort" foods for a reason. As you eat these foods, a "feel good hormone" is released called serotonin. However, the release is sharp and unregulated which causes us to crash soon afterwards. There are foods we can eat in certain combinations and quantities that will release serotonin. As such, we will feel ecstatic throughout the day without a dreadful crash and loss of energy.

You cannot pile on the chemical laden comfort foods and expect to lose weight. The food industry has played on our love for comfort foods and cause an epidemic of obesity especially in America. Consequently, this is the law of chemical affinity at work in the worst way.

Let's look at another scientific component to weight-loss. Did you know that properly combining your food will trigger the chemical reaction that promotes weight loss and keep it off? There are specific ways in which we can combine our foods that will help us quickly metabolize fat, carbohydrates, and proteins, use them for energy, and prevent storing additional fat in the body. If you have a proper metabolic rate, then losing weight will be steady and faster.

In fact, proper food combinations help to keep our body at proper pH levels for burning fat stored on the body. With these efforts, your body will better respond to your exercise and fitness program. Losing weight will be a natural process without losing energy. This will allow you to literally reshape your body!

Have no fear! You can eat plenty of food and still lose weight. The science of losing weight demands that you do eat. The key is to eat 6 small meals a day that are properly pH balanced to enhance your body's metabolism. Your body contains a natural fat burner that just needs to be charged up.

In order to know what to do and when to do it, we must get accurate information. We need to learn more about how our bodies work and how we can keep our bodies healthy, fit, vital, and strong.

Empower yourself with knowledge and wisdom about the science of losing weight. Get control over your life and your body.

What is the Fastest Way to Lose Weight?

For all that want the answer to the question "What's the fastest way to lose weight?" let me ask you a question first. What ever happened to hard work, discipline, work ethic, and eating right? Did I miss something or did I fall asleep one day and then woke up with a million ways to lose weight fast within 24 hours? I mean come on. Sure there are some pills that could probably help you to lose weight, but if you're popping weight loss pills like Tic Tacs after you supersize you're Value meals, pills won't seem to be that affective. Plus you don't want to risk your health for the sake of rapid weight loss. Fast weight loss should happening as naturally as possible and I'm sure that all pills have to have some type of side effect. I've never heard of pills saying on their disclaimer "no side effect whatsoever." It's just not worth it. All because you want to lose weight fast? While Losing weight quickly can have it's personal benefits, natural ways to melt fat and lose weight quickly are better long term.

Why is everyone Else Losing Weight Except Me?

Your metabolism is different than others. Not everyone is the same. I know some a friend of mine that can eat a whole pizza by themselves and not gain a pound! (If you are reading this, just like me, your metabolism is not like that) Why do you ask? Their metabolism is faster than most others. While there are ways to speed up your metabolism and help you to lose weight fast, a lot of quick metabolisms are past down from generations through family genes.

Drinking Water to Lose Weight

Some people say that if you drink cold water that it could help you to lose weight fast because your body has to burn calories in order to heat the water to body temperature. This may be true, but considering that most of your body is mostly water weight, what happens to the rest of the water? Surely all of the water won't pass through your system as waste.

Magic Weight Loss Formula

Now I know you may be thinking what does this have to do with the question "What is the fastest way to lose weight?" Well I'll tell you. I've been working on a secret formula that is GUARANTEED to help you lose weight fast, burn fat quick, lose belly fat, etc. and you can use this Magic formula with whatever program you'd like! It's called Eat Less and Exercise More.

That's right now let's test it out. Look at the following examples:

Pills + Eating Less and More exercise
Drinking water + Eating Less and More exercise
Lose weight Shakes + Eating Less and More exercise
Fast Food Diet+ Eating less and More exercise
Working out + Eating Less and More exercise

The point is you can pretty much hop on any "lose weight fast" bandwagon, however if you don't add the key ingredients(aka Magic Formula) then the bottom line is your not going to lose weight fast, or maybe not even at all. Additionally there is the safe weight loss factor. You don't want to risk your health for a possible heart condition or whatever side effect some pills might have.

The Truth About Weight Loss

Just to make things clear in the examples of this My Magic Formula when I say "eating less" what I really mean is eating the right portions per meal. Studies show that you can eat more times daily and actually speed up your metabolism therefore helping you to burn fat and lose weight quicker than conventional diets if you're eating the right portions. If you eat 5 times a day with breakfast being your biggest meal and all other meals of equal portions you can speed up weight loss by speeding up your metabolism. Tradition dieting tells us that 3 times a day is what most people are accustom to, but this could be bad for you if your trying to lose weight. Your body stores fat when it goes without food for longer periods of time between meals because it is preparing to go without food, therefore storing fat for energy. Now if you combined the fact that your body stores fat when eating less portions, with no planned eating proportions and no exercise you're destined to fail unless you're educated yourself in the weight loss field.

Serious About Losing Weight

Now if you're serious about losing weight fast then the absolute fastest way to lose weight is by hiring a personal trainer. This could be expensive. It is the fastest way to lose weight although it may not the cheapest. Ever watch a popular TV program along the lines of "The Biggest Loser" or shows similar to this? They lose tons of weight. And how do they do it? That's right, a personal trainer. It can be too difficult to do the research and figure out what foods and exercises are best for you yourself. Educating yourself in this area can cost you a lot of time and money. Learning to lose weight from someone who has already lost weight and kept it off is the fastest way to lose weight in my humble opinion. Now in my own search to lose weight I've recently stumbled upon a Certified Nutritionist and Exercise Specialist with 15 years of experience in the weight loss industry. Her Diet Solution Program will help you to find the best ways to achieve a healthy weight fast. In addition she also provides you with 2 exercise routines specifically designed to burn fat and target abs. Her name is Isabel De Los Rios author of the The Diet Solution program. Check out her website at The Diet Solutions Program and learn from someone who has already answered the question "What is the fastest way to Lose weight?"

Tips for Losing Weight Fast - Burn the Fat or Eat the Muscle?

This article is called 'tips for losing weight fast' because I would like to draw your attention to some points about a couple of weight-loss concepts that you may not know.

The first point is that losing weight fast can be done. Many have done it, particularly on low-carb diets like Atkins where ketosis (when your body converts fats to energy) is involved. Losing weight fast can also occur by engaging in near-starvation techniques.

The problem with such 'losing weight fast' techniques is that most of the weight you're losing is muscle. This is particularly bad in the long run because greater muscle means a faster metabolism, which allows you to burn more calories while at rest. Losing weight fast without sacrificing muscle is simply not realistic.

The ketosis stage of low-carb diets appeals mightily to the 'losing weight fast' mentality, but has also been described as the greatest weight-loss marketing tool. This is because when you engage in it for a couple of weeks you may find yourself losing weight fast during that time, which allows you to think that you are participating in some kind of miracle diet. Despite the fact that you can't sustain these kinds of losses, this initial weight loss stimulates positive word-of-mouth. Note as well that ketosis is only a single phase of a low-carb diet because if you engage in it for too long it can lead to serious kidney and liver damage - a considerable sacrifice to make in trying to lose weight fast when you can have sustainable weight loss and a healthy body instead.

So, the first distinction to be made is between weight loss and fat loss. If you starve yourself for a few weeks, the number on the scale will probably make you happy. What the scale is not telling you is that you are losing a great deal of muscle, which is a really bad situation for you if you seek the long-term weight loss that has to do with burning fat - and keeping it off.

What I offer to you in this article is not a recommendation to starve yourself or engage in ketosis, even though if you followed this advice you would think well of me for a couple of weeks when you got on the scale (before cursing me intensely later on when you gained it all back).

What I do offer is some tips on healthy methods you can use to lose as much fat weight as possible in as short a time as possible. Losing weight fast does little good if it's not fat, and this is an important distinction. Losing weight for healthy fat loss means a maximum of a few pounds per week, while setting up habits that will allow you to continue to lose rather than short-term ecstasy followed by another bout of frustration and depression.

If you're willing to commit to it, here are some tips concerning what you can do to look and feel markedly better in the next couple of months:

Whip your calorie-burning mechanism.

This means speed up your metabolism, and the best way to do that is to get your body accustomed to burning calories quickly by feeding it frequently. You will get great results with 6 small meals a day, and if you decide - for example - that you are going to take in 1800 calories a day, then you're looking at small portions of 300 calories each meal. Note that you should not be taking in less than 1200 calories per day since you increase your risk of depleting muscle as you get lower in this range.

Don't just eat frequently, eat well.

Obviously, if you need to lose weight quickly you know that you need to limit your amount of fat intake, particularly the saturated fats found in foods like ice cream, cookies, chocolate and fatty parts of the cow and the pig (steak, hamburgers, bacon, ham, etc). You will want to replace them with lean proteins (fish, chicken, turkey, etc), complex carbohydrates (whole grain bread, oatmeal, potatoes, green vegetables) and unsaturated fats (fish, avocados, nuts). Your carbohydrates should comprise about 50% of your diet, proteins should be around 30%, and fats should be 20% or less.

Sweat it out.

Aerobic exercise (meaning that which maintains an elevated heart rate) is crucial to fat loss, and if you need to lose the fat faster then you will need to do it more often than average. This means 6 or even 7 days of the week, for 45 minutes or so each day. The best aerobic exercises include cycling (without stopping), jogging, or using equipment like an elliptical machine, a stairclimber, a rowing machine, or a cross-country ski machine.

Burn more calories while sleeping.

The way to do this is to build more muscle, so you're going to want to do some weight training. Doing workouts 3 or 4 days a week, 30 minutes each day will increase your lean body mass and charge your metabolism even further. This means more calories burned and more fat loss, particularly in the long term.

If you think that this sounds like too much work, I urge you to ignore these tips and try the low-carb/starvation alternatives mentioned above. You presumably won't be too surprised when you join the millions who have adopted the 'losing weight fast' mindset and temporarily lightened the burden on their scales, only to return shortly to the exact place they started at.

How to Lose Weight?

For those of us who lead busy lives losing weight can seem difficult to achieve. Health advisors suggest that a sensible way to lose weight is to increase the amount of daily exercise. In their publication, The Step Diet, Hill et al. suggest that over 2000 steps a day will significantly contribute to a reduction in weight. (Hill et al., 2004: 2). This is a useful method as it is doesn't cost anything and can be incorporated into your daily routine. Diet pills and regimes are not advisable as they can precipitate dramatic weight loss, which can cause you more problems - such as skin problems and hair loss. In the worst case scenario they can cause you to gain weight - as any sudden change in the metabolic rate can mean that when you start eating normally again you pile back on the pounds.

If exercise alone is difficult then a balanced regime of exercise and reduced calorie intake - bearing in mind the maxim 'little and often' - is a good way to approach losing weight. It is generally believed that eating three smaller regular meals, with morning and afternoon snacks in between, is the best way to lose weight. Regular eating maintains a balanced sugar level in the blood, preventing hunger and helps us to avoid overeating. This has the effect of speeding up the metabolic rate so your body breaks food down more quickly to turn it into energy. "Ideally, eat something small (even a piece of fruit) every 3 hours (women) or every 5 hours (men)" (Collins, 2005).

Another timeless way to lose weight - and one that will save you money - is to increase your daily intake of water. This is important as dehydration can mean that you don't reap the full benefits of your efforts to lose weight. Enough water is considered to be at least two litres a day (Biggs, 2006). If you don't drink enough then your metabolism will shut down first causing your weight loss to slow right down; your digestion will suffer; and you might experience 'fake hunger' symptoms (Biggs 2006) .

It is important to remember that some people lose weight more easily than others because of their body's ability to burn fat. One of the most effective ways to burn fat is through cardio-vascular exercise which increases the heart rate sufficiently - for example, aerobics or running. This form of exercise is more effective than, say for example, weight lifting or light walking, which are good muscle-toning activities helping to reduce the appearance of fat. However, if you simply don't have time to go to an aerobics class or the space in your own home, then other forms of exercise are still effective. Jon Shepherd, from Ultra-FIT magazine, explains:

"You won't burn so many calories weight training, but the potential effect it will have on your body composition and metabolic rate are significant. Muscle is the most metabolically active part of your body, burning up to three times as many calories as any other tissue type. Weights (and other forms of resistance training, like circuits) promote the development of lean muscle, boosting your fat burning potential" Source: (http://www.concept2.co.uk/weightloss/chewing_the_fat.php#2)

Fitness activities and calorie burning

Activity calories/hour

Aerobics high intensity 520

Rowing - slow 400

Weight training 270-450

Swimming for fitness 630

Treadmill running (3.8min/km) 1000

Treadmill running (5.6 min/km) 750

Source: (http://www.concept2.co.uk/weightloss/chewing_the_fat.php#2)

The above figures are based on a 65kg individual. If you weighed more then additional calories will be expended, fewer if you weigh less.

The table illustrates the differences in calorie reduction between various activities. It is important to find the right kind of exercise to suit you. For most people, walking is the easiest and most effective form of exercise. Ann Bolger, M.D., a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association (AHA) says, 'exercising is like taking the pennies from under the couch cushions and putting them into your piggybank,' in that every little bit counts.' (Meadows 2003: 18). There are many small ways of increasing the amount of walking in your day. For example, if you have a dog, or someone in your family or a friend has a dog, then try to find the time each day to take it for a brisk half-hour walk. If you're lucky to live a mile or so away from work then get up a bit earlier and walk instead of catching the bus. Even parking a bit further away when you go shopping can make a difference.

So this is all about what to do outside the home. But what about when you come back from a day at work and you want to relax? You can contribute to your efforts to lose weight by the way you cook: using unsaturated vegetable oils, and oils such as corn, olive, or soyabean makes a significant difference to your fat intake. Snacks too can be swapped for healthier, lower fat options such as sesame snaps; Ryvita, or a piece of fruit.

(Meadows 2003: 18). Many of us like to relax with a glass of wine in front of the TV - but there are other more weight-loss-effective ways of relaxation. Try substituting your daily glass of wine (110 calories) or half bottle (250 calories) for a session of meditative yoga. In this way you can reduce calorie intake, and exercise and relax all at the same time, and it doesn't cost you a penny. "Yoga also offers psychological benefits. As Baxter Bell, a graduate of Piedmont Yoga Studio's Advanced Studies Program, says:

Weight gain often brings with it a great deal of harsh self-judgment. Through yoga, we can counteract this by creating a safe, positive environment to reconnect with our bodies and quiet the counterproductive messages that often arise in our minds.

If the traditional more-exercise-less-calories method doesn't work then look into alternative ways to lose weight. There are little exercises and tips that can take all of 15 minutes of your day - such as the ancient Chinese system of exercise called Chi Kung. A specific series of movements called the Swimming Dragon is renowned for its effectiveness in helping to lose weight.

Through a series of simple movements, the Swimming Dragon works to stimulate the correct flow of chi, or vital energy, through the meridians (energy pathways) of the body. The exercise massages all the internal organs and helps to normalise hormone secretions. By practising the exercise for 15 minutes once or twice a day, it is claimed that your body will begin to naturally break down unwanted fatty tissue. (Alexander, J, 1996: 31)

Lastly, weight loss is something to be achieved over time: take it a step at a time and don't expect too much. Most importantly, losing weight should be something that fits comfortably into the rest of your life and something that you enjoy.

Lose Weight for the Summer

Being overweight in the summer heat is no fun. And exposing a fat stomach or fat thighs isn't exactly pleasant when everyone else around you is wearing gnat-sized beachwear and drizzling oil onto wasp-like abdomens. In fact, for people carrying excess weight, summer can be an unpleasant trial involving countless opportunities for embarrassment and discomfort. So let's take a look at how you can reduce some of your fat and make next summer a happier experience. But first, a warning.

Summer Weight Loss Trap

One guaranteed way to fail is to look for a "short cut" weight loss method or diet. You know what I mean: the type of program that promises "a fast effortless way to reduce weight". In my experience, none of these diets or pills actually work, and the medical evidence is quite clear: the maximum rate of sustainable fat loss is between 1 and 2 pounds per week, perhaps a little more if you are obese. Besides, if a brilliant scientist did manage to concoct a formula for rapid effortless weight reduction, overnight he would be more famous than Einstein. He certainly wouldn't be peddling his program in 30-second TV infommercials or mail-order advertisements. So for the sake of your sanity as well as your financial health, don't waste time on weight loss methods that make extravagant claims. If you don't believe this, think of any of your overweight friends who favor the short-term "lose 20 pounds in two weeks" type of approach, and ask yourself why they are still overweight.

Three Month Summer Diet Plan

You can't lose much weight in a week or two. You need about three months to make a significant impact on your body shape. Remember, the human body is interested in survival, not cosmetic appearances, and since rapid weight loss is a prima facie symptom of disease not good health, the only guaranteed way to improve your body shape is to adopt a gradual approach of healthy eating and increased exercise. In three months, you can lose about 26 pounds - more than enough for most overweight people to experience noticeable health improvements as well as a much leaner body. And by reducing your weight gradually in this manner, you have far less chance of weight regain, so if necessary you can continue losing more with less danger of incurring a weight loss plateau or other obstacle.

You Need A Motive

No one likes to change their habits. So if you want to change your eating and exercise habits, you need a strong motive - something to keep you dieting and exercising when boredom sets in. Whatever motive you choose, it must be something more powerful than the urge to eat tasty high calorie foods in front of the TV!

A Good Motive For Summer Weight Loss

Anything that commits you in advance to achieving your weight loss goal, makes a great motive. So be bold. Book an expensive beach holiday, or buy some gorgeous clothes to fit the body you want to have at the end of your diet program. Both these actions require you to succeed, and therefore provide constant motivation along the way.

Men And Celebrities Have Better Motivation

In my experience, both with private clients as well as dieters who belong to my weight loss forum, men and celebrities exhibit the strongest motivation. Men, I suspect, because typically they have a narrower range of daily tasks and responsibilities than women. Celebrities, because typically they have a powerful commercial motivation to maintain their physical appearance. I offer weight loss help to a number of celebrity figures, some of whom are regulars on my forum, and I am always impressed with their ability to make short-term sacrifices to further their longer term goals. I guess that's why they achieve so much.

Be Positive About Short Term Sacrifices

Whether you're trying to lose weight for the summer, save money or pass exams, an important piece of the motivational jigsaw is your ability to be positive about making short term sacrifices. The choice is fairly simple: you can focus on the "deprivation" involved in giving up certain foods, or you can focus on the benefits you will get by not eating these foods. Sadly, many dieters focus on feeling deprived. After a while they see their diet as a burden, a bore, an evil necessity. This is why so many of them quit. They can't "see" the benefits that weight loss will bring them. If you want to improve your body shape for the summer, you must avoid this trap and appreciate the longer term benefits you will receive by making short-term adjustments to your lifestyle.

The Good News About Improving Your Diet

Many of our tastes, food cravings, and general attitudes to food are strongly influenced by what we eat and drink. I know countless mothers with families who have reported astonishing changes in their personal and family eating habits after less than three weeks of improved eating. Point is, the average modern diet is loaded with sugar, fat and sodium, all of which condition us to want more of these items. But if you can break out of this dependence on junk-ingredients for even 2-3 weeks, you'll notice a huge difference in your tastes. Which brings me to healthy eating.

Think Healthy Eating Not Weight Loss

In my experience, one of the most effective weight loss strategies is to focus on healthy eating. I'm not saying you shouldn't stand on your weighing scales, just don't measure progress exclusively by what the scales say. Be aware that it's just as important to enjoy your food and feel good about your change of eating habits. And any diet you hate is guaranteed to fail, no matter how much weight you lose, because as soon as you achieve your goal, you will revert to your old eating habits and regain every pound lost.

The Top 10 Healthy Eating Habits

In a nutshell, a healthy diet involves (1) More home-cooked food, less eating out. (2) More fresh fruit as snacks. (3) More fresh vegetables as snacks and with meals. (4) More beans as sides or in stews. (5) More dense chewy bread, less refined white breads and bread snacks. (6) More fish, skinless chicken/turkey, less red meat. (7) Smaller servings of red meat, larger servings of vegetables. (8) Eating low fat dairy foods. (9) Adding less fat in the form of butter, mayo, sour cream, to the food on your plate. This is a huge source of excessive calories. (10) Stocking up with healthy snack foods to keep hunger at bay. If you fill up with healthy nutritious calories, you won't want the junk foods that hunger makes you eat. As far as weight management goes, hunger remains Public Enemy Number One.

Exercise Provides Wonderful Indirect Benefits

Exercise does burn extra calories and therefore does help to widen your calorie deficit. But it's direct effect on weight loss is typically quite small. In fact, it's not uncommon to gain weight when you start exercising. The real weight reduction benefits of exercise are indirect ones. It raises our metabolic rate, helping us to burn calories at a slightly faster rate, and improves our mood, which typically reduces our need for comfort-eating. However, don't overdo your exercise workouts. I've lost count of the number of dieters who started exercising too vigorously and burnt out within 3 weeks. Ideally, start with 45 minutes/day of any physical activity you can easily manage, and very gradually increase the duration and intensity. Listen to your body at all times, and be sure to loosen up beforehand and wind down afterwards.

See Yourself As You Want To Be

If your goal is a waistline you can proudly display in the sun, then don't wait until it happens to "see" it. Visualize it from the moment you start dieting. Visualize yourself walking along a beach, or lying next to the pool with a perfectly flat stomach. Whatever your ambition for your weight or body, get used to visualizing it in the greatest possible detail. Because "seeing it" is the first step to making it come true. As they say, one picture is worth a thousand words.

Very Overweight? Just Visualize The Benefits!

If you have a lot of weight to lose (100 pounds+), you may not think that losing 26 pounds in three months is particularly worthwhile. If so, ask yourself this question. What's the alternative? No matter what method you choose, you won't lose weight any faster, so it's only a question of when you start and how long it's going to take. I can answer the last question right now. Losing 100 pounds takes about a year - typically a little longer to allow for disasters along the way. Fifteen months would be a more realistic time span to reduce weight by this amount. This is nothing. Just visualize yourself walking down the street 100 pounds lighter, and tell me that eating healthily for 15 months is too high a price to pay for such a wonderful prospect.

Your First Priority - Get Support

If you really want to lose weight for the summer, your first priority is to find support. Join a diet-group at work, or a fitness class, or go to weight loss meetings. Or join an online forum. Losing weight on your own is perfectly possible, providing things go well and your scales keep saying nice things. But when difficulties arise, as they surely will, having the support of real people can make all the difference between success and failure. If you experience difficulty finding support, try my own weight loss forum. It's great fun and very inspirational.
